Spring.

Fall is still my favorite season, but Spring is pretty great too. And April in particular,  what with Anniversary Week followed by Birthday Week.
This year's festivities include a historic home tour, a barbecue festival, dinner at Jardiniere, a Beethoven concerto, and a teeny tiny little Tiffany box. (Why yes I AM a very lucky girl...)
We had brunch in the garden on Easter Sunday with a few of our favorite people, lots of delicious food and gallons of mimosas. Here are a couple of recent shots - you can scroll down to see how far things have come since January:
The horse troughs are such a great solution - we did get at least a decade out of the wooden beds but these will last a lot longer and I really like the clean look of them. And the pea gravel is so comfy under foot.
It's all growing up and filling in nicely. Now we're just filling in the few remaining bare spots, battling the gophers, and enjoying the sunshine. Even if it's not sunny in your neck of the woods, here's a sunny cake for you:
Lemon buttercream on lemon cake with fresh organic strawberries inside - it doesn't really get Spring-ier than that.
